Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is out in North Yorkshire today, where he has responded to news the energy price cap has fallen slightly today. "We're working on a whole range of different things that will make a difference." "There's no simple single solution that will solve it. Now, I never said this would be easy, and I said it would take time. That's the first time that has happened since the small boats crisis emerged. ![]() He said: "They are down about 15% versus last year. ![]() However, Rishi Sunak stressed that crossings are down this year. "When I became prime minister, before I outlined my plan, the number of illegal migrants coming to the UK had quadrupled in just the last couple of years. And I really want people to know I'm working night and day to bring that about. "That's why one of my five priorities is to stop the boats. ![]() He said: "I think the current situation with illegal migration is simply ridiculous.
